External Math & English Coursework Evaluation
Use this form to request evaluation of external math or English coursework toward SBCC general education requirements. This form is not for program requirements or transfer to UC or CSU. Contact an academic counselor if you need coursework evaluated for those purposes.
Step 1: Talk to a counselor first
Work with an academic counselor to confirm this form is the right one for your situation. You can reach a counselor through Starfish in your SBCC campus account or at the Academic Counseling Center.
Step 2: Gather your documents
Official transcripts (required) — Your transcripts must be received by SBCC Admissions & Records before you submit this form or your request will not be processed. Follow the instructions on the Incoming Transcripts page to submit, then verify receipt. Transcripts must be from a regionally accredited institution and show proof of completed coursework.
Do not submit transcripts directly to the Transcript Evaluation Office — they will not be accepted.
Additional documents (optional) — If you are using AP scores, a course syllabus, or other supporting materials, have digital copies ready to upload. Including a detailed syllabus upfront can help avoid processing delays.
Step 3: Submit the form
Log in with your SBCC campus email. If your campus email doesn't work, use a personal Gmail account. You must be enrolled at SBCC to access the form.
Make sure your form is complete before submitting — incomplete forms or missing documents will not be processed.
